Cinnamon Rolls

Soft, fluffy, and packed with a rich cinnamon-sugar filling, these rolls are ideal for breakfast, dessert, or any time you crave something sweet.

Here’s how to make them:

Ingredients:

For the Dough: Use Dough Hook If using mixer instead of hands to knead.

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups water

For the Filling:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened room temp
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

1. Make the Dough: In a small bowl, combine the water, sugar and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes foamy.

- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, oil, and salt. Add the yeast mixture, then mix until a soft dough forms. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 8-10 minutes, or until it’s smooth and elastic.

- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 2 hours until it doubles in size.

2. Prepare the Filling: In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until it forms a paste.

3. Roll and Fill: Once the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 16x12 inches. Spread the cinnamon-sugar filling evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

4. Shape the Rolls: Starting from the long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log. Cut the log into 6 to 12 equal slices depending on the size you want them to be using a sharp knife or dough cutter like this one. Place the rolls into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, leaving some space between each roll. For soft gooey rolls drizzle some heavy whipping cream over each roll then Cover and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes.

5. Bake: Preheat your oven to 350°F then Bake the cinnamon rolls for 25 minutes, or until they’re golden brown on top.

6. Make the Glaze: While the rolls are baking, mix the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth. Adjust the consistency by adding more milk if needed.

Glaze and Serve: Once the cinnamon rolls are out of the oven, let them cool slightly before drizzling the glaze on top. Serve warm and enjoy!

These cinnamon rolls are irresistible and perfect for sharing or keeping to yourself for those cheat days.  Whether for a cozy morning or a special occasion, they’re sure to impress everyone who tastes them. Happy baking!
